The Government has introduced legislation under which employers must automatically enrol eligible workers into a company pension scheme, if they are not already in one.

This legislation affects all employers in the United Kingdom.

Unless they already have a scheme in place which meets the minimum requirements, each company will need to introduce a suitable scheme between 2012 and 2016; the date depends on the size of the business.

The process of implementing an appropriate scheme will typically take around 6 months - from start to finish - so the sooner you begin the process, the more likely it is that you will be able to avoid a hefty fine!
